Youth Convene to Uncover the Hidden Ummah
Baltimore, Maryland – The Islamic Leadership Institute of America (ILIA) is excited to announce “Hidden Nation Unpacked,” an inspiring new event addressing the crucial yet often hidden issues surrounding incarceration, justice, and youth empowerment. The event, which took place on October 22nd, 2024, brings youth, community leaders, and community supporters to explore the struggles of the “Hidden Nation”—youth impacted by the justice system both locally and globally.
Through eye-opening discussions, impactful storytelling, and actionable insights, participants identified three pressing topics:
Policies Shaping Youth Incarceration: From Abuse to Empowerment.
Racial Bias Impacting African American Youth in America’s Justice System.
Systemic Discrimination Against Palestinian Youth Under Military Law.
