In the heart of Baltimore, where community bonds run deep, there are families facing the harsh reality of food insecurity. As we strive to support and uplift each other, Islamic Leadership Institute of America (ILIA) is launching a food drive initiative aimed at providing essential groceries to 36 deserving families in need.
Our goal is simple yet impactful: to distribute 36 Super Bags of groceries, each carefully curated to sustain a family of four for two weeks. These Super Bags are more than just a collection of items; they represent hope, compassion, and solidarity within our community.
What's inside each Super Bag, you may wonder? Let's take a look:
2 Boxes of Spaghetti: A staple for hearty and nourishing meals.
1 Large Jar of Pasta Sauce: Perfect for adding flavor and zest to pasta dishes.
2 Small Bags of Rice: A versatile ingredient that can complement any meal.
1 Gallon of Fresh Milk: Essential for growing children and family nutrition.
Halal Meat or Chicken: Providing protein for balanced and satisfying meals.
1 Box of Cereal: A quick and easy breakfast option for busy mornings.
1 large Jar of Peanut Butter: A nutritious spread packed with protein and energy.
1 large Jar of Jam or Honey: Sweet treats to brighten up snack time.
1 large Bottle of Cooking Oil: A kitchen essential for cooking and baking.
Frozen Vegetables: Convenient and nutritious additions to any meal.
Additional Milk: Ensuring families have enough dairy for their needs.
Each item in the Super Bag is carefully selected to provide families with the sustenance they need to thrive. But we can't achieve this goal alone. We need the support and generosity of our community to make this initiative a success.
