Youth Grantmakers Visit ILIA's Youth Leaders

Empowering Tomorrow: Youth Grantmakers Visit ILIA's Youth Leaders.

BALTIMORE, (Saturday December 2nd Jumada Thani 18th, 1445) The vibrant spirit of youth leadership came alive as the Youth Grantmakers Initiative (YG) recently visited Islamic Leadership Institute of America (ILIA) to engage with the dynamic Bmore Audacious program. This unique initiative aligns seamlessly with ILIA's mission to empower and uplift youth voices in Baltimore City, setting the stage for an inspiring brainstorming session.

Youth Leadership in Action

The gathering drew an impressive 230 participants, showcasing the enthusiasm of Baltimore's older youth. From the energetic discussions emerged the essence of Bmore Audacious, a multifaceted program offering diverse activities like Baltimore Spring Break, Summer Social, Pond Ecosystem exploration, Green Sprouts, Community Engagement projects, Math Tutoring, Basketball Clinics, Butterfly Breeding, and much more.

Meet the core of ILIA's vision—Ayman Nassar, the Founder of ILIA, and Asra Khatoon, our Mental Health Specialist. Joining them are an outstanding team of ILIA members: Hamza Adawy, Shane Ford, Hassan Ibrahim, and from the YG Group, Elizabeth Stier, Tyreek Robinson, Camlera Turner, and Tony Wilson. Together, they personify the spirit of youth leadership propelling positive change within the Bmore Audacious program.

Inspiration Behind Bmore Audacious

Bmore Audacious, a flagship ILIA program, unfolded with a diverse array of activities, including Robotics & Engineering, Summer Break Camp, Food Drives, PYD videos, the Great American Road Trip, and more. The ILIA campus buzzed with excitement as these young leaders delved into discussions on community needs, sharing ideas, and planning projects that would elevate the impact of youth programs across Baltimore City.

A Collaborative Brainstorming Session

The visit from YG wasn't just a meeting; it was a collaborative brainstorming session that sparked ideas, fostered connections, and laid the groundwork for future projects. ILIA provided a platform for these young minds to actively contribute to the vision of the Bmore Audacious program, showcasing the potential for positive change when youth take the lead.

As ILIA looks back on the unfolding of the Bmore Audacious program from December 2022 to its inspiring conclusion in 2023, the influence of these young leaders is undeniable. Over 300 enrollments and a diverse range of activities bear testimony to the success of this collaborative effort.
